Dependability

We know that God is dependable, but are we? How often and to what extent can He count on us to honor His Word and maybe even our own word? Is faithfulness something we can be pleased to possess? Do our friends know that they can count on us? Can God? I doubt it, many times. Maybe a very small portion of our time we embody a reflection of faithfulness. ‘Forgiveness’ and ‘Faithfulness’ are two paramount characteristics in the life of a responsible person. More often, they are expected in the life of a person who professes Christianity. I ask myself, “Is that true of my life?” Supposedly, I expect more of myself that others do. Friends give me more slack than I give myself. Is that true of yours? Suppose the way we treat other people is a practice field for how we relate to and respond to God. That is an unwelcomed consideration, isn’t it?
