How would you describe an open-minded person? Would it be someone with a blank mind that lets any and everything occupy their cerebral space? Or would it be someone who has exercised their brain so much that more cells are active to judge what enters and have the ability to cast out the damaging thoughts and habits? Maybe an open-minded person is one who is so skilled at knowing the truth and adapts it to good reason. I am inclined to think the later is closer to the truth. However, scripture says, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32 KJV) Those who know and expand truth are more likely to recognize and judge what they allow into their mind. That would be a person who truly has an open mind; a person who listens to the wisdom of God and never allows foreign or negative ideas to creep into their mind to entertain even the slightest misconduct or bad attitude.
