Proverbs is the best source for understanding wisdom and discipline. Even a simple-minded man can know these basic truths. Do we sometimes believe ourselves so arrogant that we are above learning these basics? Reading chapter one, verse seven says it all, doesn’t it?
“Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but. fools despise wisdom and discipline.” Proverbs 1:7 NLT
Is ‘understanding insights of the wise’ a longing of your heart? I wish it were stamped on the forefront of my brain. The same would be true of hundreds of verses in the Bible. We don’t have enough vacancy in our brains to take it all in – or do we?
