Fall, a Time of Harvesting

‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’ (Hosea 10:12 NLT) Our investment in this journey of life is a 365-day a year endeavor. Fall, a time of harvesting, has always been known in nature and in our minds eye to be a time to plant and prepare for the future. Before any cultivation begins, a decision must be determined on what (and maybe why) we want to produce. Since love is an ultimate longing for all mankind, we will need to invest the seeds of righteousness if we expect to have a ‘top crop’ of love. Thanksgiving is a holiday season for family and reflections of love and gratefulness. Today is a good time to share expressions of love and begin planting seeds of righteousness, which is a matter of perspective. We must first, ask ourselves to visualize the harvest before we are motivated to plant it?
